Job info

Thank you for your interest in joining the Cat Ladies Cat Sitting (CLCS) team! We are looking for reliable, compassionate "cat people" to provide high-quality, in-client-home cat sitting services across north and central Seattle, including downtown.

The Cat Sitter Role
This is a domestic labor position that requires a strong love for felines and a high degree of reliability. It involves a lot of physical movement, including daily driving and parking in dense urban areas.

A Typical Day
A cat-sitting day involves driving to approximately 5–8 different client homes, generally between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

  • Standard Visits: Each standard visit is approximately 30 minutes long.
  • Peak Season Note: During busy periods, such as holidays and holiday-adjacent weekends, sitters take on a higher volume of clients, and visit times may be temporarily abbreviated to ensure all clients are served.
  • Scheduling: Daily routes typically include cats requiring specific morning, mid-day (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.), and evening visits.
  • Breaks: Sitters usually have a 2–3 hour break during the day between their day time and evening appointments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Feeding and refreshing water.
  • Administering medications (including injections, with training provided if needed). Note that is not applicable to holiday cat sitters. Holiday cat sitters will not be required to administer medication to cats orally or by injection.
  • Cleaning litter boxes and expertly managing any messes (hairballs, cat vomit, or accidents).
  • Sending timely pictures and detailed updates to clients during each visit.
  • Providing general home services, such as bringing in mail, packages, or watering plants.
  • Consistently maintaining professionalism and respecting clients' homes and specific wishes.

Compensation and Employment Details

  • Pay: Compensation averages around $30 per hour, supplemented by tips (which are typically very generous) and holiday bonuses.
  • Employment Status: CLCS cat sitters are W-2 employees.
  • Payment: Pay is administered bi-weekly via direct deposit. The next pay days are Friday, December 26th, 2025 and Friday, January 9th, 2026.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
We are seeking reliable, gentle, and patient individuals who will treat our clients like their own furry babies.

Essential Logistics

  • Candidates will need access to a reliable personal vehicle with proof of insurance.
  • Candidates will need to own a smartphone with sufficient storage to download and easily use various communication and security apps (e.g., WhatsApp, Signal, August Smart Lock).
  • Candidates will be asked to provide three local job or volunteer references (non-family/friend).
  • A successful candidate will need to pass a background check.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Prior veterinary experience or professional cat-sitting experience.
  • A strong love for cats combined with domestic work experience (nannying, caregiving, housecleaning, etc.).
  • Experience administering medications to felines (including injections) or the willingness, confidence, and ability to learn this skill.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to problem-solve independently.
  • Residing within close proximity to our Seattle service area is preferable.

Physical Requirements

  • Candidates should be prepared to clean up all types of messes and work in homes that may be cluttered or unkempt.
  • Candidates should be comfortable working in homes that may be cluttered or unkempt.
  • Candidates are ideally able to climb stairs, stoop, crawl, bend, and lift.
  • It is preferable that candidates are able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Testimonial

Former Cat Lady Lea L. says, "I  had a wonderful time working for Cat Ladies Cat Sitting for over a year. It is very rewarding being able to work with animals and having so many fur friends. I had hundreds and hundreds of friends and it didn't feel like work. Especially when I was waving a feather around or getting cuddles on the couch. You form special bonds and relationships with your clients. And they are the cutest clients!!! If you love cats you will love this job."
